Stop At: The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, Midan El Tahrir Geographical Society Building, Cairo 11511 Egypt

The Egyptian Museum. No trip to Cairo is complete without a visit to The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. The museum is the first purpose-built museum edifice in the world Displayed over two floors and numerous rooms it houses the world’s largest collection of artefacts dating from the prehistoric through to the Roman periods, with the majority of the collection focused on the pharaonic era.

Stop At: Cairo Citadel, Salah Salem St, Cairo 11511 Egypt

Citadel of Salah ad-Din (Saladin) was built between 1176 and 1182 AD. The Saladin citadel is the most visited Islamic spot in Cairo its main purpose was to defend Cairo, so it was built in very strategic position with the fortress providing stunning views of Cairo today. The citadel is home three main mosques:

Mosque of Muhammad Ali: The mosque was built between 1830 and 1848, although not completed until the reign of Said Pasha in 1857. The mosque is located in the Southern Enclosure and is open to the public.
Al-Nasir Muhammad Mosque: Built in 1318, during the early Bahri Mamluk period, as the royal mosque of the Citadel where the sultans of Cairo performed their Friday prayers, today this hypostyle mosque is still similar to how it looked in the 1300 though many repairs have been made and only some of its original decoration has been restored. The mosque is located in the Southern Enclosure and is open to the public.

Mosque of Sulayman Pasha: Built in 1528, it was first of the Citadel’s Ottoman-style mosques and is one of the few structures in Cairo closely resembling the “classical” Ottoman style of the 16th century. The mosque is located in the Northern Enclosure.

Please note when visiting mosque’s appropriate clothing must be worn and shoes must be removed.

Stop At: Khan Al-Khalili, Cairo Egypt

Khan el Khalili: We will end the tour with a visit to the largest bazaar (souk) in the Middle East, It represents the market tradition which established Cairo as a major trade centre. The popular bazaar of Khan el Khalili has a large selection of shops, workshops and coffee shops and is famous for its herbs, spices, leather goods, and very large range of incense.
