In the morning your friendly driver will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to Cairo Airport for a flight to Luxor for a full day tour. Upon arrival at Luxor Airport you will pair up with your Egyptologist tour guide, who will take you to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor, including the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. It consists of tombs embedded in the mountain Thebes. This ancient necropolis is a must-see for Luxor travelers.
The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity,the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’
The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings is rather different than most other tombs built here. This tomb is by far the most spectacular of the other tombs you will see. The hieroglyphics on the wall depict scenes from the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Caverns, the Book of the Heavens, Book of Amduat, and the Book of the Night. The blue and white colors on the walls inside the burial chamber are very vibrant and you can see the king’s sarcophagus made of rose-colored granite. There is also a beautiful scene of goddess Nut on the ceiling, where she is depicted swallowing the sun, and it traveling through her stomach, for Nut to give birth to it.

Karnak in the East Bank of Luxor. Karnak is a complex of temples built in different reigns, starting with the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 gigantic columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Tutomosis I, the Temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs, the Granite Scarbeus of Amenophis III and the Sacred Lake. Karnak beats every other pharaonic monument: it is simply one of the most beautiful ancient monuments in Egypt
Afterwards, you get the chance to marvel at the twan engineering miracle used as an embankment dam situated across the Nile River, built in the 1960’s to protect Egypt from annual floodso Aswan dams (the Old and the High dams). It is an archaeological site located in the belly of the mountain, south of Aswan. It is a reddish-sandy cliff, standing tall on the west bank of the Nile (now on the western shore of Lake Nasser, behind the High Dam), and made up of two large temples carved into the rock. It was built by King Ramses II , the third of the nineteenth dynasty of the Pharaohs. These two temples were among the greatest temples in ancient Egypt. They are usually called the “Great Temple of Abu Simbel” and the “Little Temple of Abu Simbel,” both of which are more spacious and grandiose than all the Egyptian rock temples of all times. There are six statues at the entrance to the other temple, four of them of Ramses II and two of his wife Nefertari.
Day 1
You will be picked up from your hotel and will be taken to Aswan, where you arrive at about 11:00. You visit Philae Island on which Philae Temple is built, where you enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful temple dedication to the goddess Isis. Day 2
On day 2 you will be transferred to Abu Simbel by car in the early morning. After arrival you can enjoy your guided tour of the Temples of Abu Simbel with free time to explore the sites for yourself. After visiting Abu Simbel you will be taken back to Luxor.
