It was dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu representing the Theban triad. The Obelisk of Ramses II in front of the 1st Pylon is one of the most important architectural elements in luxor temple. The second obelisk was given by Mohamed Ali pasha as a gift /present in 1836 to the french king Louis Philip. The latter gave him a clock that does not work , decorating the bronze tower at Mohamed Ali pasha mosque in the citadel in Cairo. The second obelisk is now standing in paris, la place de la concorde.
